The launch of the calendar was a wonderful event and I was so honoured to meet many of the other artists involved in this great project. The paintings are beautiful and you now have a chance to bid on them here: http://artauction.vonality.com

Mark your Calendar and Join Us on Friday, November 15th at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The fun begins at 6:30. Meet the artists, see the artwork, eat some sumptuous food prepared by the chefs at Feed Nova Scotia and buy the 2014 Calendar featuring the artwork of 12 Nova Scotian artiists - including this work, "Ocean Playground" by me. I'll be there to say hello and thank you for your support!

The CBC Sharing the View 2014 jury selected Monika Wright as one of 12 artists for the 2014 calendar project. The project, now in its fourth year, is so much more than just a calendar. It is a community builder and fund raiser for Feed Nova Scotia. Twelveartists from across the province have been selected and their paintings will be auctioned as part of the fund raising event. The paintings will be touring the province and with a gala event to be held in November at the Maritime Museum in Halifax. Stay tuned to CBC radio Information Morning 90.5 FM for more updates.
Ocean Playground – Monika Wright, Artist

Nova Scotia, Canada’s Ocean Playground is depicted here with its pebbly beaches, the hundreds of lakes, rocks of many colours and textures and deep blue ocean. We play, work and create our lives in the fresh air of nature that surrounds us, even in the city. These geographical elements connect us to this province; the community of people connects us to each other.

Artists and artisans in this province are among the best in the world. They deserve to be celebrated and promoted as the valuable resource they are to this province as they spread their beauty and joy, their hardships and the courage it takes to overcome them. They are Individual in spirit and yet, deeply supportive in the spirit of community. This is Nova Scotia.

"Ocean Playground"
Geographically Incorrect #1 Series
Framed to 30 x 24 inches
